A number of the early colony artists used their artistic skills in commercial ventures in large cities, but chose to come to Brown County to work as fine artists.
Brown County Fine Art Inc. proudly represents new Brown County Indiana artists. Please contact us for additional information about modern Brown County Indiana artists and to see examples of their works that are available for sale. Below, please enjoy the Will Vawter painting, "Oaks in Autumn", we recently sold for $23,500 (proceeds benefited the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation), and, the T.C. Steele from the collection of Dr. and Mrs. Robert E. Sexton. It is featured in the article written by Lyn for American Art Review Magazine (October '07) on Steele's One Hundred Years in Brown County. The Steele will be featured in an exhibit planned at the Brown County Art Gallery. |
